Kim Thomason, MS
Program Manager for Early Childhood Education Initiatives

 

Kim rejoined Virginia Tech in April in this new role focused on coordinating quality, affordable, and accessible early childhood education programs for the university community.

Kim has 25 years of experience in the field of early childhood education, child development, and parent education, having worked as a consultant, educator, and mentor.  She most recently led and owned Three Presidents Consulting, based in Blacksburg, Virginia since September 2010 where she provided continuing education and consulting services to early childhood professionals. Additionally, she served as the Western Regional Manager of Child Care Aware of Virginia from July 2020 to March 2021. Prior to these roles, she served as the Virginia Quality NRV Local Coordinator and Curriculum Specialist for Virginia Tech through grants contracted to the Institute for Policy and Governance and Department of Human Development and Family Sciences from September 2012 to July 2019. Kim holds a master’s degree in Family Relations and Child Development: Child Development and a bachelor’s degree in Family Relations and Child Development: Early Childhood Education from Oklahoma State University.
